A little about our Farm
We are located in Yelm Washington. My husband Jeff and I have the two
kids Austin and Riley. We all love our animals and our farm. I grew up on
a farm showing horses and was very involved in FFA showing as many
animals as I could. 1992 was my first year in FFA. I was president of our
FFA chapter from 1997-1999 and was captain of the logging rodeo team
at the same time.

I was also active in northwest JR rodeo and rodeo royalty court. We really
want the kids to have the same love for animals that we do. They love
raising the animals and are fast learners. They have started showing last
year always asking...when is the next show!!!

I am show secretary & director for the Evergreen Rabbit Breeders Ass.
This year we placed 14th in Washington State.
Currently we have about 50 rabbits with an available 79 holes in our
rabbitry. If you have any Flemish or Checkered Giants please bring them
out to a show. We would love to meet you and your rabbits!!!
*HOUSING*

*Or full grown Giants are in built in cages that are solid wood floors with wire sides and
fronts they are 48x48 or 72x48. When they are young we do have them in all wire cages
45x45. You need to put something else on the wire for them to rest on. In our built ins
we use stall pellets to absorb any wetness and shavings or straw for bedding.*

*TIPS FOR BETTER HEALTH*

*NEVER use cedar shavings it is toxic to most animals. I use white or pine.*

*Trim your rabbits nails about every 4 to 5 weeks. Just trim the tip off and you should be
ok. If you make your rabbit bleed don't worry it's along way from it's heart. Just put flour
on it and it will stop.*

* if you just keep them clean you should have not problems.*

*Rabbits love toys a golf ball, baby rattle (I buy mine at the dollar store) or toilet paper
rolls are great*

*Rabbits do not have to be vacated but if you find a rabbit not gaining weight like it
should be you can try rabbit wormer.*

*Rabbits teeth are always growing they need to crew to keep their teeth grinned down.
They need non toxic wood to crew on. I give mine apple or cherry branches or chucks.*

*Giants do better in the cold than they do in the heat. I freeze bottles of water to take to
shows or to use at home on hot days. Rabbits can lay on them to cool down. We also
like to put ice in their drinking water.*

*FEED AND WATER*

*Loss stool is deadly to rabbits avoid it at all cost*

*I FREE FEED all my Giants. Meaning that their feeders are always full. You don't want
to over feed small breeds or they WILL get obese*

*I feed Pfaus rabbit pellets. But you can use any rabbit food as long as it is fresh. I give
mine blue grass, timothy or chopped timothy because most pellets are made from alfalfa
so they are already getting enough of that. I also like to give a treat mix every day but
that is not necessary. My treat mix is dehydrated pineapple chunks (helps with hair
balls), oatmeal, crimped oats/barley, dehydrated papaya chunks (also helps with hair
balls) calfmana, black oil sunflower seeds and dehydrated banana chips. I mix it
different every feeding so they can have a variety.*

*I use crocks to water my rabbits. I top them off in the morning and afternoon. Then at
feeding time I dump old water, wipe bowl and give fresh. If you use water bottles it is
important to dump old water out every day. Fresh water is very important to rabbits if
they don't have it they will not eat. Wash your waters every 4 days with a bottle brush.*

*I like to feed my rabbit in the early evening time. Rabbits are more active at night.*
